Independent Representatives receive your payment by personal sales as well as recurring sales of its multi-line business.
In this course we will refer to this model as indistinctively Multilevel Marketing (MM) or Network Marketing. Multilevel is how you receive your payment (multiple levels). Network Marketing is what you do (Networks).

In the 1940’s, in the United States, a dietary supplement called “California Vitamin Company” realized that most of its new Sales Representatives were relatives and friends of Representatives today. The new Sales Representatives were to buy the high price of bulk vitamins.
The company decided that an extensive sales force actively selling even a small volume of products was better than having a limited number of Sales Representatives to sell large quantities. Based on this finding, creating a compensation structure to encourage networking and recruitment for the business opportunity as well as product sales.
